What’s an easy way of installing a gate on a 4×6 utility trailer?

Just bought a 4×6 trailer. It’s open in the back.Want to install a gate on it.Suggestions on ease of doing so.

Do you want to do it the EASY way or the RIGHT way?
The easy way often implies fast, or cheap, or minimal efforts. In which case, you can get an old piece of plywood, cut it to the size you need, drill a couple of small holes, loop some old baling wire through the holes and tie it to the trailer. Or if you have an old tubular headboard, strap that on. When you are ready to unload, just untie it. Carry some extra wire in case the first piece breaks.
The right way requires planning and execution. Think about what you want, design it, and if you do not have the skill required, hire someone to complete the work. Do your homework, decide if you want a pair of gates, a drop-down ramp, or a removable fence. Decide how you want it applied. Do you want hinges, and should they be screwed on or welded.
Then do it the easy way or the right way.

Does it have sides on it??? Are the sides metal???
Depending on what you are going to haul… you can put hinged tail gate that opens down so you can load lawn mowers easier, or if there are the brackets in the back for 2×4’s, make a small gate type that you lift out!!!
